The Real First Engawa AI x XR Ended Successfully

The first Engawa AI x XR event was held on August 1. As I have written about a few times, the real first session was canceled because of a typhoon. So the second session became our first event.
The photo, by the way, shows the Engawa AI x XR sign placed in front of the venue. The venue is set a little back from the street, like part of a row house, so I made the sign to make it easier to find. I wrote on it in chalk to give it a more analog feel.
This report is a little overdue, but here it is.
This Is What Engawa AI x XR Turned Out to Be
The event was held at Coworking Space Co,do, just a short walk from JR Motoyawata Station. Even if it is raining, you can get there with barely any chance of getting wet.
Walk west through the arcade from JR Motoyawata Station and cross the street, and you will see an OK Store. Pass through beneath it and you will come to a narrow road. Across from it, you should see a small wooden shopping mall. The detached house within it is where Coworking Space Co,do is located.
It was sunny on the day, and five people attended, making it a very substantial study group.
My talk was titled "Developing visionOS Apps with Today's Codex." I introduced tools that can help with developing apps for Vision Pro using Codex as it has evolved up to recently. I feel that the landscape around visionOS has changed completely since around last December. At the time, it still had a strong sense of being a frontier.
When Xcode received robust AI integration in February, I found myself less motivated to build such tools on my own, considering the possibilities of the tools that will develop from here. I think I will look for a new frontier.
Before the event, I posted the following:

Yasuhito Nagatomo decided to attend. His talk on 3DGS helped me understand it much better. At a small study group, it is wonderful to be able to ask about all sorts of things. I had been interested in 3DGS as another style of spatial expression when I bought a camera for shooting VR180. I may have been a little too fixated on VR180 and therefore avoided looking at it very much. But after seeing various demos, I came to think that 3DGS might be more compatible, especially for incorporating into apps.
Recently, the available tools have become much more capable, and it seems easy to create 3DGS content. Compared with VR180 video, it feels more approachable for newcomers. I would like to create content not only for visionOS, but also for WebXR. I have also played around a little using Scaniverse and SuperSplat on the iPhone 12 mini I have on hand. Going forward, I would like to scan the inside of the venue's building.

I see a lot of potential in 3DGS, so I intend to keep following it. If there is any progress, I would like to give a talk about it at Engawa AI x XR.
There were also talks introducing a website where you can open a browser and view 3DGS content in WebXR, as well as a talk about OpenAI Build Week.
By the way, my Codex Micro had just arrived, so I brought it along. With so many other topics to cover, however, I was not able to talk about it much. I would like to talk about how to use it at the next Engawa AI x XR.
