I bought the new Dual Knit Band for Vision Pro

Dual Knit Band attached to Vision Pro

The Solo Knit Band comes standard when you buy Vision Pro. It supports Vision Pro with only the back of the head and the main unit, so the hold area at the back of the head is wide. Because there are many photos of Vision Pro with the Solo Knit Band attached, some people may think it is integrated with the device.

The Solo Knit Band can be removed, and there are many third-party bands available. Even without buying a third-party band, there are hacks that use a headband to support the device from the top of the head. In any case, I get the impression that many people change away from the normal Solo Knit Band.

The Solo Knit Band is convenient to put on and take off, but it lacks stability. If you try to wear it very tightly to make it stable, it leaves marks around your eyes that clearly say you were wearing Vision Pro.

October 22, 2025 was the release date of the M5 version of Vision Pro. At the same time, Apple released a new official knit band called the Dual Knit Band, which supports Vision Pro from both the back and front of the head. Since it can also be used with the older Vision Pro, and I do not have the budget to buy a second device, I bought only the band.

I wanted the Dual Knit Band to arrive on launch day, so I bought it immediately after the announcement. It cost 16,800 yen including tax. That is a fairly aggressive price. If the yen were stronger, it might have been a little cheaper.

As for the Dual Knit Band itself, the wearing comfort is very good. First, it is nice that I can wear Vision Pro without tightening it strongly. Also, the rear and front parts can each be tightened or loosened, so it seems able to handle various head shapes. I bought size M.

When holding the Dual Knit Band by itself, it feels hefty. Apparently it is more than 100 grams heavier. The intention seems to be to improve the front-heavy balance of Vision Pro by using the weight of the knit band to balance it. As a result, the already heavy Vision Pro becomes even heavier, but in terms of how it feels while wearing it, I think it is less tiring.

There is one point where the Solo Knit Band is better. When not using Vision Pro, the Solo Knit Band could be worn around the neck, but the Dual Knit Band does not really work that way. It is not completely impossible, but it feels awkward.

At events, quite a few people walk around with Vision Pro hanging from their necks, so in those situations the Solo Knit Band may be better.

I will keep using it for a while before reaching a firmer conclusion.
