Trying the Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 on Vision Pro

Cyberpunk 2077 displayed on Vision Pro

Now that the Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 is out, I wondered if sharing that screen to Vision Pro might make for an incredible gaming experience, so I gave it a try.

The Crew and Cyberpunk 2077 are two of the games that supported me through the pandemic years. It would not be an exaggeration to say the former supported the first half of that period, and the latter supported the second half. Cyberpunk 2077 in particular is full of wonderful design details and objects, and it is the kind of work that is worth keeping around as a reference.

First I launched the Mac version and displayed it on Vision Pro using the usual screen sharing flow, and Night City immediately opened up in front of me. That said, because I had not optimized the settings, there were issues like black bars on the left and right and a resolution that felt a little low.

In terms of frame rate, if the experience shown directly on the Mac is 100, the shared display felt more like 60, whether because of wireless transmission or the performance of screen sharing itself. Even so, the sense of presence spreading out in front of me was excellent, and the immersion was very strong. If possible, I would like to see a Vision Pro version as well. Native support would probably allow for higher resolution and frame rates.

This time was more of a quick trial, but with some setting adjustments and optimization, the experience could become even better. Other Steam games may also work surprisingly well.
